I AM UDARA LIYANAGE

Experienced Software Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the Software Development industry. Skilled in different ares like Software/Web Development & Design , Robotics , IoT and Mathematics. Strong engineering professional with a Bachelor of Science – BSc focused on Mathematics and computer science from the University of Ruhuna.
All About Me
My name is Udara Liyanage, and I am a Software Engineer hailing from Kalutara South, Sri Lanka. I was born and raised in a family of four, including one sibling. My father serves as a Government Agent, and my mother holds the position of a Principal.
During my school years at Kalutara Vidyalaya National School, I had a fantastic experience. The supportive teachers played a crucial role in shaping my character and instilling decent manners. Inspired by a desire to pursue excellence, I chose to continue my education at the University of Ruhuna, focusing on computer science.
My university experience was equally enriching. I enjoyed the company of kind individuals, practical lecturers, and engaged in numerous workshops and practical sessions. My dedication to learning led me to explore various technologies and engage in individual projects spanning programming, electronics, robotics, and IoT. Notably, I actively participated in hackathons, showcasing my commitment to innovation.
In my leisure time, I indulge in hobbies such as playing cricket, traveling, camping, and listening to music. Interestingly, I’ve dedicated my free time to learning new technologies and creating innovative solutions. Numerous individual projects, especially in programming, reflect my passion. For instance, I developed a Fuel Tracker app that boasts over 1,000 downloads and is utilized by more than 200+ users daily. Another notable project is the “Dansala” App, which is successfully running.
Strengths that define me include sincerity, dedication to assigned tasks, effective team leadership, honesty, and a relentless enthusiasm for learning new skills. However, my inherent weakness lies in an eagerness to help others, even when assistance is not explicitly sought. This can sometimes be misinterpreted as an ulterior motive, though my intention is solely to contribute positively.
Looking ahead, my short-term goal is to secure a position in a reputable company where I can further enhance my skills and knowledge. In the long term, I aspire to attain a distinguished position, possibly as a CEO, where my contributions are acknowledged and the company takes pride in my work. This encapsulates my professional journey and aspirations.
